Signs of Stabilisation in Germany’s Plastic Packaging Industry
Recent data from Germany indicates a slight improvement in the plastic packaging sector, suggesting economic stabilisation. According to IK's Q2 2025 survey, 57% of manufacturers in the plastic packaging and film sector now view the economic situation as poor, an improvement from 70% last quarter.
Despite ongoing global uncertainties, two-thirds of companies expect no change in their export business, and over 75% feel confident about raw material procurement. Additionally, 68% of companies plan to maintain their workforce levels, reflecting stability within the sector.
Sales expectations for Q2 are balanced, with many companies anticipating steady or slightly improved performance. This marks a positive shift in outlook compared to earlier in the year, with fewer companies fearing a deterioration in earnings.
